Sustainable design with Puro Plus wall cladding panel
The construction industry is a major consumer of raw materials and energy. As a result, our sector has a serious impact on CO2 emissions. As an architect, installer or privat person you can make a difference by choosing sustainable building materials. SVK's Puro Plus fibre cement cladding panel offers that more sustainable alternative compared to many other building materials. Find out why by reading this blog.
A lower carbon footprint with Puro Plus
With its resource efficiency, Puro Plus cladding is a certainty of a more sustainable facade. According to Byggerietes' building material pyramid, fibre cement cladding boards from SVK belong to a material with a lower footprint compared to many other materials.
Some numbers
Average 34% lower carbon footprint,
equivalent to:
- Avoided gas consumption of 27 m³ per m² of façade
- Planting 2 trees per m² of façade
Puro Plus versus Aluminium
On average 40% lower ecological footprint,
equivalent to:
- An avoided gas consumption of 32 m³ per m² of façade
- Planting 2 trees per m² of façade

Puro Plus absorbs CO2
You don't see it happening, but our Puro Plus cladding panel absorbs CO2 during its lifetime on the facade.
That process is called carbonation and is accelerated when CO2 can penetrate a slab more easily. Puro Plus is the SVK fibre cement board in its purest form and has no shielding coating. As a result, Puro Plus absorbs more CO2 on average than other fibre cement boards. Moreover, it is a thin-walled 8 mm board. Thin-walled materials score better because CO2 penetrates to the core of the material faster. As a result, there is a greater storage volume of CO2.
Very concretely, this gives the following results:
- Storage of 2kg CO2 per m² of façade
- A 12m² Puro Plus facade is good for the carbon storage of 1 indigenous tree

As a result, a Puro Plus facade acts as a natural permanent CO2 store.
