7 reasons to use fibre cement slates for your project
SVK fibre cement slates combine the look of natural slates with the top quality of fibre cement and are suitable for both roof and wall cladding. Discover 7 advantages of SVK slates here.
The best raw materials
SVK fibre cement slates are manufactured with only the best raw materials and fibres. Our slates are double-pressed during the production process. This ensures that they are resistant to extreme weather conditions, easy to work with and not prone to breakage.
Strong, yet light
Although our material is very strong, it is a lightweight among building materials. This makes our slates very suitable for the renovation of a house or the construction of a new extension. When renovating, the existing supporting structures often have to be taken into account. These should not be overburdened and therefore the light weight of a slate is a real added value.
Fireproof
Thanks to strict tests and research, SVK fibre cement slates enjoy a fire reaction class of A2-s1,d0. This means that our slates make only a very limited contribution to a fire. Our fibre cement shingles with a natural grey colour have a calorific value of 0.9MJ/kg. The fibre cement shingles with a paint coating have a calorific value of 1.2MJ/kg.
Moss-resistant finishing coating
The coated slates have a double coloured and environmentally friendly acrylic coating. A single coloured layer is applied to the back, with a colourless resin layer on top that prevents water absorption. Because of the specific moss-preventing components in our paint, moss formation is strongly inhibited.
Extensive product range
SVK slates are available in different colours, formats and finishes. Thanks to this extensive choice, our slates are suitable for both ultra-modern and traditional coverings of your project. In addition, SVK has its own paint preparation, so that we are always in control of the quality of our paint. In addition, for our Fasonit slates (smooth & textured) for projects from 150 m², we can prepare almost all other RAL and NCS colours in addition to the 2 standard colours.
Comprehensive coverage options
SVK slates can be installed in many different ways. Depending on the format and whether it is for roof or facade, there are different possibilities. Take a look at our page on coverage methods or check out our references to get inspiration for your project. Thanks to the dimensionally stable slates, they can be installed immediately, which saves a lot of time and money.
Added value for your renovation project
Slates from SVK are easy to combine with existing elements of a house. Slates have a thickness of only 4 mm, which often makes it the most appropriate solution for facade renovations. Think of an old façade where a new insulated façade is placed in front of it. Often, the new façade may not protrude too far because of the building lines. The limited thickness means that you can achieve maximum insulation and still have an attractive new wall cladding.
