Can I apply anti-graffiti coating to SVK façade panels?

The risk of graffiti contamination is already higher in some places than others. It is therefore recommended that a permanent protective coating against graffiti (and other soiling such as ink, markers, etc.) be applied to high-risk surfaces as a preventive measure.

SVK wall cladding panels are not provided with an anti-graffiti coating as standard, but our wall cladding panels are suitable for treatment with anti-graffiti protective products. Our SVK façade panels are suitable for the application of anti-graffiti products.

Anti-graffiti products vary in composition depending on the substrate and on whether the customer wants a permanent or semi-permanent system. Because there is such a wide range of anti-graffiti products on the market in each country, no one specific product can be recommended. In any case, use products suitable for application on fibre cement. When applying anti-graffiti products to our SVK facade panels, we recommend following the manufacturer's application and cleaning instructions. If necessary, you can carry out a test on a sample first.

As there are different types of anti-graffiti protection, it is advisable to have this done by a specialised company. This also applies to the removal of graffiti, here it is best to contact the company that applied the protective coating.

Applying the anti-graffiti products is normally not a problem, but removing the graffiti is more delicate because in most cases you need hot water under high pressure to clean. This can damage the coating or hydrophobic layer, depending on which façade panel you need to clean as well as the intensity of cleaning required.

The hydrophobic layer applied to Colormat façade panels is water-repellent. As a result, a water-based anti-graffiti product may not be applied or may be insufficient.

Applying an anti-graffiti product may change the appearance of the facade panels. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
