Rotterdam, Netherlands, Ornimat EST03 Cream

The Cooltower in Rotterdam is a 154-metre-high tower in the centre of Rotterdam. The ceiling cladding and the interior wall cladding of the balconies are fitted with our Ornimat facade panels in Cream colour.

The tower has a total of 282 flats. V8 architects from Rotterdam took care of the design. This grand project was realised by construction and development company Ballast Nedam. Most buildings in Rotterdam do not exceed 70m but the Cooltower was built in Rotterdam's high-rise zone. It is a very special project because with this type of building there is usually only a crown at the top of the building. Here, the architect very deliberately chose to also provide a middle crown at 70m. In this way, the high-rise tower communicates with Rotterdam's low skyline.

The balconies are also positioned in such a way as to ensure a balance between view and comfort. The wind that acts on the building has also been taken into account. That is why there are deliberately no balconies at the corners.

The result is a beautiful tower in which our Ornimat façade panels blend perfectly with the cream-coloured concrete. This results in a beautiful monolithic whole. A beautiful addition to the Rotterdam skyline.
