The architectural concept of this high-end house is a straight concrete box, which is opened up on the garden and water side. Through this entire transparent side, inside merges with outside. In good weather, a large part of the façade on the waterfront can be opened.

The clients indicated a number of architectural styles that appealed to them. The same house clad in a different style, giving it a totally different look and feel. By making it very clear what their wishes would mean for the appearance of their home, they were able to make their choice with conviction.

They opted for simple facade materials that meet each other in a very abstract way: minimal transitions, window frames lying in the plane of the ceiling and floor, concealed blinds.

The architect was looking for a slab with a concrete look to give a robust solid impression to the base of the house. Puro Plus fibre cement board was chosen because it is a beautiful board that changes with the weather. The slab gets really wet and then turns a lot darker. Then it dries again, with all the intermediate stages prior to that.

Very different from cladding panels with a finished, smooth and coloured side. There, raindrops lie more on top and roll off.

With a facade with Puro Plus, after rainfall there is a visible transition from a wet to a dry panel, where panels facing the wind or sun dry a little sooner. This gives the façade a natural look, and thus a strong resemblance to concrete block or natural stone.

The slab is made of the same material through and through, allowing you to create nice details at exterior corners.

This board is very light and can therefore be glued to a wooden substructure. So it is not only the panel itself, but also the sub-frame that makes a facade with this cladding such a good price competitor to a stony facade.

A nice bonus is that this relatively light board can be glued and, thanks to its low weight and the technique of glued fastening, nice details have been created at the rotating parts.
