Quality as priority
At SVK, we always choose the very best, sustainable raw materials as the basis of our materials. In addition, all of our materials are double-pressed, giving them a high density. By allowing our materials to dry naturally, we produce very stable and durable materials.
More than 100 years experience
In 1923 SVK started producing the first fiber cement products according to the process invented by Ludwig Hatschek in 1894. Because we produce our own paints, we can also use this expertise, very flexibly. So we can look back on more than 100 years of expertise in the production and application of fiber cement materials and their finishing. Today we use this acquired expertise for innovation and further sustainable development of our materials.
Flexibility as standard
We realize better than anyone else that flexibility is the code word for bringing your design to life. We offer custom colors in addition to our standard colors. We cut boards to size so no waste is left at the construction site and can provide our materials with special infill cuts, drilling patterns, etc. to further personalize your design.
Thinking and acting sustainable
The further innovative development of fiber cement combined with circularity is a top priority at SVK. However, sustainability does not only apply to our production methods. We firmly believe that sustainability is a matter of the entire operational management, from sustainable production to sustainable business.
We are always looking at how we, as a manufacturer, can keep the impact on the environment as low as possible. The impact of building materials on CO2 emissions is high. Our fiber cement building materials already score very well compared to many other materials, but that is not enough. Our material lends itself perfectly to a fully circular construction process. That is why SVK is researching the possibilities of this through a few pilot projects.
we have been making building materials since 1905
On 8 August 1905, Léon Scheerders and his wife Camilla van Kerchove set up the company "Pans and brickworks of St Nicholas. This for the manufacture and trade of bricks, tiles, paving and pipes.
In 1923, production of fibre cement was started. corrugated sheets, slates, pipes and even flower boxes were manufactured.
Just after the World War II in 1947, the Decora department is established. The department provides a decorative finish for fibre cement wall panels.
All fibre cement materials are produced using the Hatschek method. This production method consists of making a product with the desired thickness and properties via build-up of individual layers.
